Fried onion flowers recipe

I love fried onion rings and I could eat it all day long. Thuhien on the other hand, hates onions xD. Anyways, when I found this recipe I totally wanted to try it out. It's so easy to make and looks super pretty. You can impress your guests with this creative snack or just consume them yourself because it tastes good too. Let's get started!

So this is what we are making. Doesn't it look pretty?

First of all we will need some onions, a sharp knife and tempura batter mix (you can get this at any asian supermarket).

Now peel the onions but don't cut the bottoms off.

Here comes the fun part. Slice the onion in eighths, without cutting all the way through the onion so that it stays intact on the bottom.

When you've finished the tempura batter (just follow the instructions on the tempura flour mix), you put the flower onion in the bowl with the tempura batter and drizzle the batter all over the flower onion. Then put it in the fry pan till it's gold and crispy. And last but not least, enjoy!

Love, Minh
